It's World AIDS Day

Here's a message from my pal, Bono...

And here are the stats:

U.S.
It is thought that more than one million people are living with HIV in the USA and that more than half a million have died after developing AIDS.

Sub-Saharan Africa:
An estimated 24.5 million adults and children
were living with HIV in sub-Saharan Africa at the end of 2005.

During that year, an estimated 2 million people died from AIDS. The epidemic has left behind some 12 million orphaned African children.

Every day in Africa:

• HIV/AIDS kills 6,600 people

• 8,800 people are infected with the HIV virus

• 1,400 newborn babies are infected during childbirth or by their mothers' milk.

And here are some links to check out today:

Each site has a section on what you can do to help. I'm a member of the ONE campaign, so I just made a donation to ONE.org and will be purchasing a (RED) T-shirt from the Gap to show my support. There are simple ways to make an impact on a not-so-simple problem. Just something to keep in mind today...
P.S. Today is also my 3 month anniversary as a non-smoker. ...so, I've got that going for me. Which is nice.

Right on man, I still have dial up so I should be able to get that Bono clip any month now. I love your passion Aaron, you are an inspiration to us all. By the way, give your goddess a hug of congratulatory biggness for the good news. I would call it good fortune, but that may leave things to fate and we all know that Kate DOES rock and it is about time the world took notice! Keep on keepin on man

Hi Aaron, this is Christy, Dustin's friend from Omaha, now Detroit. I think I may have met you many moons ago...you're originally from Omaha too, right? I have to say I wear my Inspi(RED) t-shirt from the Gap with so much joy and honor. To know that it's helping in some small way. I'm also a member of ONE.org. I've been waiting for this campaign to start for MONTHS and just about had a heart attack trying to get some of the products...and then my dear sis-in-law presented my t-shirt to me on my birthday. Such a perfect gift. Without passion in this world we have nothing. You and Dustin inspired me to start my own blog. It's not much but I'm still learning. http://areyoukiddingmewiththat.blogspot.com/ Take care!
