stop crying! so you had a vacation to omaha, big flippin' deal, you missed the food and the folksy people, blah, blah, blah! remind me of the reason you left omaha in the first place! get back to work and stop being a ninny!
Yeah....that's right...Omaha sucks man. Couldn't you tell while you were visiting. It totally bites. Thank god I live in Council Bluffs.
Well, ANONYMOUS... First off, it wasn't a vacation. It was a trip to see my mom through a surgery. Second, I could fill a fuckin'BOOK with everything I love about NYC. It's my home. I wouldn't have busted my ass living here for 12 years if I didn't love it. And, yes. There's lots of gross stuff about Omaha's ultra-suburban, totally mediocre westward expansion and miles and miles of stripmalls and Applebee's, etc.
But, I don't think pointing out a few charms I discovered about my hometown while I was there on a visit is any reason for name-calling. And, yeah. I was having a rough couple days. I'm not in love with my day-job and my wife's out of town and, as it turns out, I'm not getting paid for the week I was gone. So, yeah. I was hating my day. And if I want to express that on MY blog (the title of which should be an indication of the kind of content you're going to come across) then I'm going to. That satisfactory for you, ANONYMOUS?

Hey, sorry to hear you're not getting paid for the time off. If it helps, it was totally worth it for me. And really, can you beat $3 beers and green dresses? I don't think so!
